SAP BI has evolved and a new in-memory-computing technology called HANA has been introduced as a replacement of the "normal database" i.e. Oracle in SAP BI. If I understand it correctly, HANA is a blackbox database application based on hardware certified by SAP with 32+ cores — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.3.234.5 ( talk) 11:28, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
In addition to SK's comment, I believe that most of the entry for SAP Business Information Warehouse violates the 'no Soap Box' guideline WP:SOAP ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:SOAP) by using many subjective terms to describe the product. It's 'non-objective' style reads like an advertisement, an SAP PR release or a thinly vailed appeal to encourage the use of the product by some out-of-work SAP consultants. Using words like 'rich' and phrases like 'very pervasively employed' when describing software functionality reeks of advertising. ...When I get the time I will correct this entry to bring it into alignment with Wikipedias 'No Soap' code. It is important to note that by definition a data warehouse is a data centric thing and that SAP by its paradigm is an application centric thing. Therefore the fundamental characteristics and applications that are inherent to the functions of a true data warehouse are difficult and somewhat not possible using SAP BW. At it's heart and in essence "under the hood" there is no data structure even closely resembling a data warehouse in SAP. Words and labels are used to promote a concept that technically is not present. When making the determination of what is or is not a data warehouse it is vital to see a physical relational data structure that is elegant in being a non-volatile, time-variant, subject-orient, aggregated, and summarized database. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.241.254.68 ( talk) 20:55, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
