This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) it provides full bibliography and was passed by several editors after considerable rewriting two years ago. The request by Ronald R is spurious and it is not made in good faith. The administrators should note that Ronald R is an anti-Zionist propagandist and campaigner. He appears to be conducting a political war on facebook and he has attacked a strsightforward factual article for extraneaous reasons, perhaps as a consequence of my following my making minor factual edits to another Wikipedia entry. If the Yiddish lexicon says his Yiddish name is Shloyme Yosef, why should we question that in the absence of any other source?

The correct name is without any doubt Shmuel/Samuel/Sam, attested by the authorship of his books, the obits etc. The Yiddish Shloimo is Samuel not Solomon. I knew this subject, and I know his friends called him Shmuel. The Yiddish lexicon has been asked to correct the name but hasn't yet done so. Perhaps further requests can help with this matter.
