It's even considered noxious weed in North America. Russian knapweed biochemically inhibits the growth of other plants, and it is poisonous to horses. See [1], [2], and [3]. -- 97.72.189.172 ( talk) 04:12, 16 August 2014 (UTC) reply

Species

It seems like Russian knapweed is offically known as Rhaponticum repens since 2006. See [4], species:Rhaponticum repens, and Commons:Category:Rhaponticum repens. I think this article should start with "Russian knapweed (Rhaponticum repens, formerly known as Acroptilon repens) is a...", and be moved to the correct actual species' name. Commonscat:Rhaponticum repens could be added. -- 97.72.189.172 ( talk) 04:12, 16 August 2014 (UTC) reply

Synonyms

Russian knapweed is also known as Turestan thistle, creeping knapweed, mountain bluet, Russian cornflower, or hardheads. -- 97.72.189.172 ( talk) 04:26, 16 August 2014 (UTC) reply
