This article has been describing Rose street as a largely #pub# area. Many tourists come to Edinburgh for the purpose of drinking here.
However the principal function of the street are the shops which line it's length. Above the shops there are numerous office.
Where there are no offices there are residents. We number quiet a few. We believe that the principal function of the street is home. It would be helpful if the tourists reading here see that, because they tend to act as if they're in a drunken disneyland.

It's not servants entrances - that's on the lanes. Rose street was, in itself, a working mans street with servants quarters and shops. I know - I have the deeds going back to when they where built in the 1700s. So will ScottScott please nick off and stop talking crap?
On Friday and Saturday night the drunken monsters appear. I have no doubt ScottScott is one of them. They like to believe they own the street, even though they only turn up for ten hours a week. But that is wrong. It may appear like it's just for alcoholics - the shops are shuttered, the residents hide - but the monsters don't understand Rose street has many functions. An article in ScottScott's form just encourages the drunken idiots. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.15.131.213 ( talk) 13:06, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
