The article could be improved by adding information about uses of this chapter in debates over what was proper for a government to do: https://washingtonmonthly.com/2018/06/15/the-historical-precedent-of-trotting-out-the-bible-to-justify-oppression/ [the link is to an opinion piece; I link to it because it provides an overview of this issue, as well as links to better/usable sources]. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 16:16, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
It's very odd, as far as I'm concerned, that the actual meaning of Paul's statements on civil authority is never explained in the page. Rather, we just get modern commentary rather than what scholarship says regarding its meaning. 70.49.181.61 ( talk) 19:13, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
Hello User:Wallingfordtoday. You may or may not be interested to know that there are a few hundred articles in the "Bible Book Chapter Number" format, and they tend to contain similar problems: like someone copying NKJV headings into them as if that were the "structure" of the article itself. I've done some clean-up to many of them, but there's always more to do, in case you're interested. Alephb ( talk) 03:36, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
