The " Hans Christian Anderson Biennial runner-up award" --which I have slightly reworded but not deciphered-- may be a nomination for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award in the illustration category.
About 30 writers and 30 illustrators were nominated at their national levels during the last cycle. Is there an official historical list of nominees? -- P64 ( talk) 23:47, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
The biographical information is meager and shaky. One of the Ext links may be a source.
The historical note in "Guide to the Roger Duvoisin and Louise Fatio Papers 1934–1968" [ref name=NWDA] is not generally the source that previous editors have used. Indeed, it conflicts on two points at least, placing Duvoisin's study in Paris at École des Beaux-Arts (fine arts, seems unlikely) and giving him a job in pottery afterward.
