Someone needs to edit this article to LESS resemble Gauntlet's article from Mechanical Maniacs, as currently it's a direct copy, isn't that against Wiki policy?

Don't copy my article!

If you want to create some basic information about the game, sure you can use my article as reference, but plagerising it isn't cool! It was copied, basically, word-for-word with the same headings and the same facts in the same order as my own article! I wasn't even asked. At least a link was given, but even so it isn't cool.

So, I reverted it to it's form BEFORE it was copied. If you want to write an article - do it right. Put it into YOUR OWN words.

Obviously it's YOU who needs to read up on copyright law.

If you REALLY WANT an article about the game up write a WHOLE NEW ONE. There's dozens of ways to do it. You don't have to copy mine,

re:Don't copy my article!

servebot_- Apology accepted. But, just so you know: The forum got those pics from MY site as my site is the VERY FIRST site on the net with any really good information about the game on it. In fact, my site was the first english-speaking site to acknowledge the game's existence. So, if there's info on the game or pictures ..... it came from my site and my article.

Just be wary: people put ALOT more effort in things like articles, sprites, or images than you may think. Nobody likes to see it ripped off elsewhere. Ripping things off may be reality for the net, but on sites like Wikipedia we can fight back against such things, so .... we will!

If you want to write your OWN article that uses some information my article contains, you can. But DON'T copy it word-for-word. Make it CLEAR my article came first and that I didn't get my information from Wikipedia.

re:Don't copy my article!

Psychomantis101, you refer to the Copyright article, but have you read it yourself? Gauntlet doesn't need to put a copyright notice on his website at all. The server that the website is on is hosted in the US so US law applies. In the US, you do not need to include a copyright notice on your work.

"This requirement was generally the result of previous United States statutory requirements, but since 1989 in the U.S., the use of copyright notices has become optional."

"A copyright notice is no longer required for a work to be covered by copyright in jurisdictions which have acceded to the Berne Convention. In most jurisdictions a work may be copyrighted from the moment of its creation regardless of whether or not it bears a copyright notice."

Unless Gauntlet created the article before 1989 (which it isn't at all), it's still copyright violation.

That's pretty lucky! I had to rely on a guy named "Rockman X" to get me the one I have.

Just making a note:

I've deleted the exact quote someone else made from my article on the story, just like the previous issue. As for a list of bosses being put in the article - I don't mind (it's pretty fair to say what bosses are in a game) so I didn't delete that section.
