Is Roberta McCain the wife or widow of John S. McCain, Jr?
I contend that she "was" the wife. Since she is now deceased we use past tense. A widow is a woman who outlives her husband. I think a strong connotation of "widow" is "living" since that is part of the definition. It is not incorrect to say that she "was" the widow, but it is more accurate and kinder, after all, to call her the wife, because that is true and correct.

The speed with which they're reverting makes me think this is probably a logged-out user who has this article on their watchlist.

Ivar the Boneful, the speed at which they are reverting is a direct correlation to the speed at which they are reverted. Since this is a content dispute, we do not have any exemption from the
WP:3RR and may be blocked for edit-warring. I would advise opening a sockpuppet investigation instead.
