This page seems very opinionated. Seems like it might even have been written by an opponent of Mr. Asher. I'm going to add some citations where I can but I think a lot of this needs to be rewritten or removed completely. -- Colinbartlett 16:45, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I think the article needs a mention of Mr. Asher's connection to Budd Dwyer.
The Dwyer suicide was a very famous and important incident in Pennsylvania's political history. In a lot of ways it became the symbol of the state's political corruption in that time (where 200+ state officials were convicted of corruption). It was also an important event in US media history and even pop culture. Most people of that era have a recollection of the politician who killed himself on live TV. The fact that Mr. Asher was Dwyer's co-defendant in that case gives a lot of context to some of the criticisms that he is facing from his political opponents and within his party.
For those reasons, I have included that reference. Perhaps the reference needs to be cleaned up or edited for style, for I am still new at wikipedia. -- PAPolitico 20:53, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Mr. Asher is Pennsylvania's GOP national committeeman and a major Guiliani fund-raiser. That alone justifies this wiki entry. But, the article needs some major work:
