Someone rightfully removed the place of birth on the article, as of late no reliable source as to where he was born. IMDB states his P.O.B. to be New York City, however the Deutsche IMDB has his birthplace listed in Munich. Most articles about Pilatus state him as being a German-American which would imply he was born in Germany. If anyone knows for sure and can cite the source please advise. -- SaturdayNightSpecial ( talk) 01:41, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
He was born in Munich. He was not born in New York, and I don't know where that information comes from, as it is incorrect. His father was in the U.S. military and stationed in Germany when he met his mother, and Rob was immediately put up for adoption as soon as he was born Rob never met his biological parents (his father returned home to the U.S before he was born, and his German mother remained in Germany, and didn't want to keep him). He spent the first four years of his life in an orphanage before he was adopted by a German family in Munich, therefore he was most likely born in Germany.
On Fab Morvan's (fabmorvan.com) official website, there are scans of magazine interviews done with the in the 80s. One of them has Rob himself mentioning that he was born in Munich and not New York. It is simply an untrue rumor that got started somehow and spread, to the point where numerous sources, including even newspapers incorrectly list his birthplace as New York.
According to German Wikipedia and this documentary by TV station arte Rob was born in New York. In one of he interviews he says he's from New York. Should we change that again? -- Glamourqueen ( talk) 11:11, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
In an interview in Ebony magazine, July 1990, it says "Pilatus was born in New York City, the son of a Black American serviceman and a German dancer." https://www.pinterest.com/pin/689965605386155620/ CarlSerafino ( talk) 08:47, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure he was born in 1965, not 1964. Various sources list his birthdate as June 8, 1965, and this page is the only one that lists it as 1964.

The article says that Pilatus died "in "Kent's Cube" in Friedrichsdorf". What's "Kent's Cube"? Google searches for it turn up this article, or others that may be referring to it, and nothing that isn't related to Rob Pilatus. It this some kind of typo or misunderstanding that has been elevated from nonsense to Gospel by being stated in Wikipedia? TypoBoy ( talk) 16:44, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
This info should be corrected as he could never sing, Milli Vanilli did lip sync and somebody else was singing their songs 82.10.114.102 ( talk) 21:11, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
