An anon has added/modified material to make this article rift system. Seems that rift system would be a viable article, but the current article should retain its focus on simple geomorphic valleys formed by rifts. The details of complex rift systems seem a bit much for this article and deserve a dedicated article focussing on the tectonic processes. Comments? Vsmith ( talk) 12:23, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Changed intro sentence from "The largest freshwater lakes in the world are all located in rift valleys except for Lake Victoria"; the North American great lakes are not in a rift valley. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:9:4F80:80B:39CB:D9EC:78DD:4089 ( talk) 22:08, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
