Rift systems

An anon has added/modified material to make this article rift system. Seems that rift system would be a viable article, but the current article should retain its focus on simple geomorphic valleys formed by rifts. The details of complex rift systems seem a bit much for this article and deserve a dedicated article focussing on the tectonic processes. Comments? Vsmith ( talk) 12:23, 12 December 2007 (UTC) reply

And to add to the mix, we already have Rift. I agree with your suggestion. Rift should be included in a more specific article, or renamed to Rift system.
We also need consistency in citation format; as the footnote system was already in use, we should keep it, and provide page cites to sources. Kablammo ( talk) 12:44, 12 December 2007 (UTC) reply
An additional article "rift system" is unnecessary. It should be part of the article on rifts. It certainly doesn't belong here. A valley is a geographic feature, a rift is a geologic/tectonic feature. A rift system is simply a plurality of related rifts. Tmangray ( talk) 16:12, 7 April 2008 (UTC) reply
I created rift system as a redirect to rift. The way, the truth, and the light ( talk) 16:21, 7 April 2008 (UTC) reply

Rift Valley Lakes

Changed intro sentence from "The largest freshwater lakes in the world are all located in rift valleys except for Lake Victoria"; the North American great lakes are not in a rift valley. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:9:4F80:80B:39CB:D9EC:78DD:4089 ( talk) 22:08, 6 September 2014 (UTC) reply
