It's true that GCC uses a RTL, but many compilers use register transfer languages internally. I think that this article should be about RTLs in general, not just GCC's (though that may make an interesting section, since GCC is an important compiler). Brighterorange 17:41, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I'm changing it to make it clearer, but it should probably be expanded upon. EvanED 16:59, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
I thought in the context of HDLs, RTL meant "register transfer level", describing the level of the design description (as opposed to gate/transistor level). I've never heard it expanded as "register transfer language" in this context. -- CTho 01:43, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
I think you are right. I'll change the references in the EDA pages. LouScheffer 02:41, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
I modified Design For Test also. -- CTho 04:18, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Fixed the above DFT link LouScheffer 07:34, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
A new page is required. As stated above RTL in the context of HDLs stands for "Register Transfer Level" Graemec2 13:33, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
