They've all been moved now. violet/riga (t) 19:50, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
To bring article titles for regions of Chile in line with the Provinces and with use in other countries (see #Current use at: Wikipedia:WikiProject Subnational entities/Naming) the following moves would help, articles were already there in the past, though I cannot move:

I think that a unification of region names shoud be done. The current names can be seen in Template:Regions of Chile where there are 3 types of conventions:
I favor Tobias' choice, but I also like what is done in Wikipedia in Spanish: names there are like I Región de Tarapacá (Chile), etc. Let me add that "n Región" is part of the name, and actually most people say "Primera Región", etc., without the name (Tarapacá in this case). A title like "I Región de Tarapacá Region" would be so ridiculous that another alternative must be taken.

User:Cantus is taking action without talking and he also destroys page histories by copying content in cases where he could not move the page with the move-function. Tobias Conradi (Talk) 18:36, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
With the Dec 19th change in the regions, a new map should be made. Is anyone up to it? -- JAXHERE | Talk 00:23, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
As far as i'm aware, there's no intention of abolishing the Roman numerals. The two new Regions have been assigned new numerals and also I read that the Constitution requires them to determine the timing for Senatoril elections (the odd numbered regions are due for senatorial elections in 2010). GringoInChile 10:43, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
I've removed the external links from the article because the first one is simply not accurate even though it comes from what one might expect to be a reliable source. The second link just doesn't work. -- JAXHERE | Talk 16:48, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Removed Section:
- Article on sub-national government in Chile
- Decreto Ley N° 2.339", from 1978 - Denomination of the regions
As a student/wikipedia editor I would be easier for me to see the reoman nujmerals of the regions next to the names. For example: Region de Antofagasta II DiegoTalksMonke ( talk) 13:10, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
