I spent the early 80's working at 3 Record Bars - The first in Whitehaven Mall off Winchester in Memphis, the second opening the new store (#123 I believe) in the Mall of Memphis (now torn down - sniff, sniff) and finally #64 in Four Seasons Mall in Greensboro, NC under the wonderful leadership of Mr. Robert Patrick Prout.
Perhaps I'm overly nostalgic, but I have very fond memories of a lot of my former coworkers and even some of the mall rats. Bob was a very patient and forgiving guy to work with and set the bar for bosses from that time forward. I came to value a good, healthy work environment above the financial rewards in a workplace.
Thank you Barrie Bergman for all those years at Record Bar - I owe you a beer, and then some :)
