This section is quite misleading:
Most readers will think orbiting satellites were used to jam radio broadcasts (implicitly short wave broadcasts), this would be quite the achievement!
The original source says that the Soviet Union and it's satellite states started using swept sine waves (sweeping around 2-4 kHz offset from the target carrier) to jam short wave reception.
I definitely think, that this article is not good. Even the first sentence, mentioning the control of media in the Soviet Union is highly incorrect!
