I attend the funeral of F A Dolby - Known as Bill Dolby 8 Jul 1920 - 18 May 2013 - Bill served as a seaman on Orion from 1939. Family stories confirm Orion war service as detailed in the article as far as it goes but also talk about service in the North Atlantic convoys which is not mentioned - My understanding is that Orion made three Atlantic trips during it war service. As I have this information third hand with no additional details I have not updated the article (although I believe it to be reliable). I am in contact with people who were closer to Bill who may be able to provide more information in due course.
