"A S Barrett was commandant from 1929-1931 in the rank of Group Captain and then from 1936-1939 in the rank of Air Marshall. The family has always understood him to have been the only man to have twice been commandant. We have the silver eagles inscribed with the dates of his two stints as commandant." Both RAF Web ( http://www.rafweb.org/Biographies/Ludlow-Hewitt.htm) and Flight Magazine ( http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1932/1932%20-%200899.html?tracked=1) state that Ludlow-Hewitt was commandant until September 1930. Greenshed ( talk) 20:48, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Please see the following for evidence that Ludlow-Hewitt handed over to Joubert de la Ferte: http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1930/untitled0%20-%200555.html?tracked=1 Perhaps a photo of the silver eagles could be uploaded. Greenshed ( talk) 20:58, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Central Andover? Outskirts? North, south, east, or west of the town? In a village? What is the site now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 42.2.34.156 ( talk) 13:53, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
