I have been told that the First Squadron of the RAF (then part of the Army) was created in WW I exclusively for balloons. I have not yet found corroboration. - Kittybrewster (talk) 12:09, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
The Balloon Command insignia used on this page is clearly a poor photoshop, and is taken directly from an unofficial website which would appear to have created it: www.rafweb.org/Cmd_H3.htm. It may resemble the original insignia, but I can find no corroboration, and I highly doubt the RAF would have used an image of a Montgolfier balloon in this way. As a result, I intend to remove the insignia pending further references. - the1james 16:36, 28 Mary 2014 (UTC)
