Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Displayed_image_size says image sizes should be set to 'thumb' (= 220px width by default). Adjusting size if necessary should be by scaling factors eg use of 'upright' option for tall images.

I've replaced "px" by "upright", which is the option one should use, according to
this page.
