Latin?

Anyone know where the name "Burramidae" comes from? -- naught101 ( talk) 08:23, 16 May 2010 (UTC) reply

Well, Broom first described it in 1898, splitting some genera off from another family. The type genus he used was Burramys, which he had described in 1896. "Burs-" means pouch and "mys" means mouse. See Greek_and_Latin_roots_in_English - UtherSRG (talk) 08:46, 16 May 2010 (UTC) reply
