  • No, unlike Cupid, who is a God (but whose name is, confusinghly, also used, generally in the plural, as a synonym for putto), they generally occur in groups, so the collective notion (almost an iconographical motive) is expressed by the plural. Fastifex 09:02, 17 July 2006 (UTC) reply
