New updates for consideration - Pure Michigan ad campaign

Hi Wikipedia Contributors for the Pure Michigan entry - my name is Chad Wiebesick and I work for the State of Michigan's tourism office, Pure Michigan.

If it is of interest to you, there are some updated data, facts and figures that could be included in the Pure Michigan Wikipedia entry, for your consideration: /info/en/?search=Pure_Michigan

The $45 million budget is a bit outdated. That money was to be spread out over a number of years, and was not permanent. The 2014 budget is $29 million and was increased $4 million from last year for international marketing. The 2013 budget was $25 million. http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article/20130306/NEWS/130309917/state-tourism-industrys-plan-for-next-5-years-more-than-pure

I can provide other data, if you're interested, such as: Pure Michigan named Forbes one of the all-time best tourism campaigns, and michigan.org is the most visited state tourism website for the past seven years. http://www.forbes.com/2009/06/29/las-vegas-australia-paul-hogan-leadership-cmo-network-marketing_slide_6.html http://www.mlive.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2014/01/pure_michigan_website_no_1_for.html

We could also consider including information about the current Governor and his support of the campaign.

Also, in the section where the article talks about the website relaunch in 2008, perhaps we update it to say that michigan.org relaunched its newest website in 2012. http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article/20120912/FREE/120919969/state-launches-redesigned-pure-michigan-website

Thank you for your consideration. How is it best to proceed? I have news stories and third party, independent research for this information, should it be helpful in updating the Wikipedia article.

Looks like you're getting zero help, Chad. That's why Jimbo Wales' "Bright Line Rule" simply won't work in practice. It would have been better for you -- and for the average reader -- if you had just adopted a pseudonym account, done a few edits here and there, made the changes to this article that you wanted, then made a few more random edits (so you don't look like a single-purpose account), and then disappear. - 2001:558:1400:10:78A2:5136:31FF:B44F ( talk) 20:49, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
Hi Chad! Don't mind the anonymous comment just above. It is true that requested edits don't typically work very fast and Wikipedians are working on improving the system. I added the budget numbers because those are supposed to be the easiest thing for requested edits to improve. (I also trimmed back the description of the advertising.) I didn't do anything about Forbes, the governor, or the website launch because I'm not sure exactly what you want the article to say. The best approach is to review the instructions about saying specifically what sentence to add, what sentence to insert it after, what to change, etc. And don't be noncommittal about it. It's OK to be bold about what you want, but if you have a conflict of interest just be bold on the talk page instead. Frieda Beamy ( talk) 23:06, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks Frieda Beamy( talk) for the tips. I will visit the links you suggested and may consider offering some additional edits to the page, being sure to abide by Wikipedia's policies. Thanks again. Cwiebesick ( talk) 13:23, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
