Is it necessary to have an entire paragraph about this artist and his foundation? I've lived several years in Punta and never heard of him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.4.21.77 ( talk) 18:28, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Even as a Uruguayan, I think that the incredibly flattering language used in this article is a bit too much... Much of the content seems to come from a few newspaper articles about Punta del Este, which, though very kind to the city, are hardly encyclopedic material. Much of what the article says is correct, but the way in which it's said needs to be modified, and the dozens of "peacock terms" need to be eliminated. Also, I think the name-dropping part is unnecessarily long, and the list is really excessive. One or two names of international renown might be alright, but most of the 20+ names already there illustrate very little. What does everyone else think? DSS370 20:32, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

The "Official Site" listed in the external links is not official at all, it is a commercial website making money from adverts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.125.37.253 ( talk) 07:03, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

I spent a few summers there as a kid, and I really had hoped to see some more info in this article. Some aspects that come to mind.
Someone fluent in English and familiar with Punta del Este should improve this article and especially the "Main Sights" section. It's full of grammatical errors and strange sentences. Zonder ( talk) 02:54, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
I removed the link to http://www.puntadeleste.com because it is not an official website, it is privately owned and it does not belong to the state. Moreover I am tired of hearing their stupid ads claiming millions of visitor to their page on the radio..
This article is short and badly written, it sounds like a cheap advert, and wikipedia is no place for your stupid ads, ok? thank you.
I've added a link to official website for punta del este, http://www.maldonado.gub.uy/puntadeleste1.php

This article reads like a poorly-written 13 year-old's essay for school. Plus, he/she got a C- for it. I'm personally going to try and improve the article; in the meantime, I implore all readers to try and improve this article so that it represents Wikipedia quality. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.54.4.18 ( talk) 23:34, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Please, use Wikivoyage [1] for travelers' advice, links for private transportation, suggest hotels, etc. This article is not the proper place for such content. It should only contain information about Punta del Este and a non specific mention of the services connected with it. For example to mention that there are bus, taxis and remise services connecting with the airport is OK. But to advice the tourists how to use them or offer specific links for each company does not belong here. Hoverfish Talk 10:02, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

For the record, I removed these links. Good grief I didn't get to see all the insanity of external links referred to in the post above this one. Some might be valuable so can't hurt to keep them here.
