Main Page in the Did you know column on 19 January 2007. The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that in 362 AD, the
rhetoricianProhaeresius, a friend of the
pagan Emperor, was allowed to keep his teaching post in spite of a ban on Christians but resigned in protest?
Two incorrect hyperlinks at the beginning of this article have been corrected. English Wikipedia has articles on Diophantus the mathematician and Epiphanius of Salamis (which were the hyperlinks in question), but it is not possible for these figures to be the ones that Eunapius mentions as Prohaeresius's contemporaries, based on chronology and other grounds. See Eunapius's Lives of Philosophers and Sophists for more details.
