This merger was originally proposed here, but consensus was not reached. Salyut 6 EO-1 is the name of the space mission (Dec 1977 to Mar 1978) during which the Progress 1 spacecraft was launched and later destroyed (Jan 1978 to Feb 1978). All of the content which currently appears in the Progress 1 article is now in the EO-1 article. I should point out that one user retired because I made the redirect without consensus.
