I think we should not mention that LBJ was the first president to travel aboard a foreign leader's jet. According to The Los Angeles Times, he was the first American president to travel aboard a foreign leader's jet when he traveled with Lester Pearson on his Canadian Air Force jet from Malmstrom Air Force Base to Vancouver during his first foreign trip, in 1964. But let's not mention it for now. Other presidents didn't travel aboard a foreign leader's jet before LBJ did in 1964. SnoopyAndCharlieBrown202070 ( talk) 12:30, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
Johnson had postponed a trip by Shastri to the U.S., not canceled it. Shastri was due to visit the U.S. at the time of his passing. SnoopyAndCharlieBrown202070 ( talk) 16:12, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
Can we add details that Johnson never traveled abroad between the time he assumed the presidency following the Kennedy assassination until Hubert Humphrey was elected vice president. The AP reporter who was in the motorcade when Kennedy was assassinated, Jack Bell, mentioned this in his account of LBJ's first year in office, The Johnson Treatment, that foreign leaders would have to come to Washington or his Texas ranch. His only foreign visit during that period was when he implemented the Columbia River Treaty with Canadian Prime Minister Lester Pearson in Vancouver.
