I am surprised there is no mention of the preservation of intangible cultural materials. This seems to cover what the 'preservation of meaning' article is about. Also, the examples given are mainly non-Western cultures, which should be broadened to include Western religions, cultures, social customs. For example Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia seeks to preserve traditional blacksmithing.
