"Lighter weight equates to less steel ...." is a chicken and egg statement. Also, lower weight does not necessarily equate to less cost as implied. I can easily design a complex geometry that optimizes material but is expensive to manufacture. Some manufacturing design software does not optimize for manufactured cost as overtly as for minimized steel weight. Pre Engineered buildings are the alternate solution for conventional RCC buildings in industrial applications.
