Some photos to potentially add to the article (- Pete ( talk) 19:19, 26 June 2012 (UTC))
I'm thinking Portland Union Station would be better title here. It's widely used in sources, [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] and it already redirects here, so it can serve as natural disambiguation. There is a former Union Station (Portland, Maine), but the still-in-use Oregon station is the clear primary topic ( [6] vs. [7]). Barring objections I'll make the move.-- Cúchullain t/ c 16:22, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: moved. Unopposed request. Number 5 7 17:30, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
Union Station (Portland, Oregon) → Portland Union Station – While the station is more commonly known as just "Union Station", Portland Union Station is also well established and well used. [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] As such, it qualifies as natural disambiguation, which is preferable to a parentheses, as "an alternative name that the subject is also commonly called in English reliable sources, albeit not as commonly as the preferred-but-ambiguous title". Portland Union Station is already a redirect; while there was formerly a Union Station in Portland, Maine, the Oregon station is far and away the primary topic in a WP:TWODABS situation: It received almost 10x the page views in the last 90 days ( 2178 in 90 days compared to 275) and also predominates on Google Books. City names are used in other Union Station articles when they're used in sources, cf Chicago Union Station, Texarkana Union Station, Tampa Union Station, Indianapolis Union Station, and others. Can anyone provide details of the former Iron Horse Restaurant & Lounge, once located in the southeastern end of the station building? (Now occupied by Wilf's Restaurant & Bar.) It existed with that name until at least the 1960's. It's shown in the 1957 film Portland Expose (about labor unions versus a crime syndicate.) There's a 1957 photo at: http://librarycatalog.ohs.org/O90000/OPAC/Details/Record.aspx?IndexCode=-1&TaskCode=1504236&CollectionCode=2&BibCode=MO90000%7C4269795%7C1%7C15320944 BMJ-pdx ( talk) 00:40, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
