"Dumas nevers tells Porthos given name" -- Is there a "his" before "given"? If Porthos is not his given, and du Valon is his surname. What is Porthos? -- Menchi 05:54, 23 Nov 2003 (UTC)
I've made a couple of very small tweaks which I wanted to explain:
I have changed "a successful wedding" to "a financially advantageous marriage" as the former is slightly ambiguous. At the start of 20 Years After Porthos is unhappy because his wife's humble origins haven't brought him the social status he craves - it's the promise of a title that enables d'Artagnan to enlist him on his side - therefore the marriage isn't entirely successful from his point of view.
I've also noted that the lawyer's wife whom he romances throughout The Three Musketeers is the wealthy widow he eventually marries.
