Connection to Guy Fawkes plot
The introductory sentence is overlong. While mentioning Guy Fawkes it doesn’t clearly say why. Is it that the 1605 plot was an example of something foreign (Rome?) interfering in English politics?

It is well known that the plot was not for religious conversion but for re instatement of political rule of the pope as politician that is as ruler of Vatican and papal states the pope and Jesuits wanted to reclaim Britain -see counter reformation- it was a political uprising in name of pope-it was not a "catholic" plot. in its revolt in the midlands phase-no Catholics responded and the plot collapsed. the celebration is to remember this and reject foreign intervention-thats why it came the colonies-the pope could have sent catholic france and spain to invade the weaker colonies-pope day is named for effigies of pope and devil carried on the day in processions-hope to work on sentence soon — Preceding
