can someone explain why this site was renamed from Pompton(native americans) to Pompton people? the Pompton Indians were part of the Treaty of Easton, so yes, they were Native Americans. Ramapoughnative ( talk) 19:10, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Actually after more research, it appears "Pompton" is simply a synonym for Wappinger, so I proposed a merge. Please comment at Talk:Wappinger#Pompton people merge proposal. - Uyvsdi ( talk) 19:41, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Uyvsdi
