Poas volcano is located at the Cordillera Central (Central range) of Costa Rica
I've removed the following passage from the article. I've read through the references given (and the external links) and I can't see anything that confirms this. Some talk about "geyser-like" eruptions, but there's nothing about a geyser jet 4 miles high, for instance. If you want to add any of it back, please give a specific inline citation.
Some consider the Poas Volcano to be a cross between a geyser and a volcano, and scientists believe that it is a volcano gradually becoming a geyser. Therefore, The Poas Volcano is believed to be the biggest geyser crater in the world. On one occasion, it spewed a jet of steam four miles high, claiming the record for the highest geyser jet.

[1] is reporting (that since mid july) there has been incandecent activity - the first here since 1981
And regarding the earlier question about 'geyser like behaviour' the link says Poás eruptions often include it, no mention of the record though.
lots more information here on both questions EdwardLane ( talk) 16:41, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
