This article describes the subject as having defected to the English which, as it stands, provides a derogatory view of this person as a "defector." The article omits essential facts and historical background: 1) There was no War to defect from – and French law at the time did not forbid a French person from doing business with the English, Spanish, etc. And, this was a time in history when the Ancien Regime controlled everything for their own financial gain. Radisson went to the "English" because of the greed and ineptitude of the French Aristocracy. To see a proper presentation of ALL the facts, please see the website article written by a qualified Professor of History that includes the passage:

This article is very top heavy. I would suggest moving most of the information currently in the lead section to the body of the article. Dividing the current info into subheadings (Early life, Exploration, Later years and death) would improve the article's readability. I would also suggest some clarification in the later parts of the article that remain vague - particularly when discussing the 'serious charges' against the Superintendent of the York Factory (what charges?). The very end with the comment on how the memoirs found with Pepys are known to be inaccurate could also use a citation or explanation. Lindzcrymble ( talk) 04:18, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

The maintenance banner for the inconsistent citations is dated from 2013. I am willing to create a single standard though a template, though I think this requires consensus according to WP:CITEVAR. Any thoughts? Oldsanfelipe ( talk) 23:15, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
