Besides User:Ali-oops and User:Demiurge's vandalism to the contrary, Douglas Hyde was not an Irish nationalist.
"Hyde was a lower-case unionist, certainly not a nationalist,..." (as per [ catalogue.asp?isbn=0521602572&ss=exc]).
They continue to vandalize this page.

What does the last line mean? HOw could they win elections without a vote being cast in their favour??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.126.138.192 ( talk) 01:43, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
I made a lot of changes. Many of them concerned simple failure to follow WP:MOS, others were repetitions of the same information where I removed one of the iterations. Many other problems remain, including for example:
"Following the failure of the Rising, Béaslaí served his first spell in prison.." followed by
"After his final prison release prior to the rising, Michael Collins approached Béaslaí.." - I'm not aware that either Collins or Béaslaí served time before the Rising, and if it refers to Béaslaí then it contradicts the earlier passage. Perhaps it was meant to read "..prior to the War of Independence.."? Harfarhs ( talk) 23:06, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
