It seems like there have been edits made on this article in which 'Khmer' has been omitted and reworded to "Khom". Mind you that "Khom" is the Thai translation of the word "Khmer". However, Thai nationalism typically attempts to downplay "Khmer" by using "Khom" which in turn is another attempt to make a pretense that Khom are a separate people from the Khmer. This is very evident in Wikipedia articles on Khmer or Khmer Empire temples located in Thailand. The majority of experts agree that the usage of Khmer over Khom is preferred in academia and research.
