what is the basis for concluding that Phanuel (Penuel) is a man's name instead of a woman's name? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.127.82.238 ( talk) 15:01, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
Religion stub...
Even it's not that important, I feel that this should be changed to a more pan-religious stub rather than a specific religion stub. The reason for this is that the angel features in other religions as much, or more, than in Christianity.
One example is found in Thompson's Semitic Magic book (p 161) showing that Phanuel is inscribed on a early Hebrew amulet. 81.208.165.173 02:16, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
