The first use of the term British Isles that is recorded by OED is by Heylin in 1621 but OED does not claim, as far as I know, that he coined the term. According to
British_Isles_(terminology)#Renaissance_mapmakers it was earlier used by Gerardus Mercator (1512), Giovanni Magini (1596), Abraham Ortelius (1570) and Sebastian Munster (1550). Therefore removing statement from this article.
