Hi
I see the race on the Isle of Man has been described as becoming the Manx Trophy. Are you sure? I thought the one-lap race of the TT circuit became the Mannin Veg. Wasn't the two-lap race the Viking Trophy and the three-lap the International?
I thought the Manx Trophy was the professional race over a far smaller circuit - about 10km - which had a name I think started with a C. 90.11.87.162 13:19, 9 November 2007 (UTC)les woodland
Does anybody know what he he did in WWII? A fit 30 year old trying to organise bike races... there must be much more. Autodidactyl ( talk) 18:07, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
"Tickle" appears at the end of a quotation from Peter Bryan or Les Woodland, an error in the set expression "jot or tittle" (meaning "the smallest kind of details"). Did Woodland or Bryan themselves misspell it, or did the error happen afterwards? If this is quoting an audio interview between them, I suggest that fixing it without flagging it ought to be acceptable, but maybe that's not how the rules go. (I don't think there could be many people who still use the expression casually, while at the same time not knowing how to spell it.) TooManyFingers ( talk) 15:31, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
