Corrected birth year and nick name
Based on
infobox in the book Spitfire Saga vol. II, page 202
age given in obit Aftenposten June 11 1992
age in Personal column Aftenposten January 16 1988: "70 years tomorrow".
About the use of Rocky... the source mentioned above, Spitfire Saga, vol. II, has it as Peter Rockland. Also
Marius Eriksens book (he was in Stalag III with Bergsland), on pages 170, 174 (even shows the autograph) and 175, has it as Peter Rockland. Which makes sense, even a German sentry guard would be able to be suspicious about Rocky as an English given name. Bergsland was wearing a british officers uniform when shot down, and was known in camp as Peter Rockland.
