1970 fires

While a source of tension between black and white students, the December 1970 fires were proven to be ignited by a white student/arsonist. He was detected fleeing from the 3rd fire (in the art building) by a student security guard and captured by a group of students. I was there. Student or non-student activists never overtly threatened to burn down the campus. White and black "activists" were busy accusing each other for the auditorium fire, which was the only significant arson committed. 67.45.96.78 ( talk) 21:01, 20 January 2024 (UTC) reply
