Wasn't he Cajun once?

I thought he had a French Louisianan or perhaps a Cajun accent in Muppet Treasure Island?

Yes, in fact the name should properly be Pepé the Prawn. Louisiana Cajuns have historically made a living catching shrimp/prawn. I think the articel should be renamed to reflect this, although perhaps I'm being a little picky, and I don't know if they included the accent mark in the credits, etc. Cuvtixo

Bill Barretta has said that Pepe is from Spain, and is based on his wife's aunt. His name is always spelled Pepe, with no accent. Check out Muppet Wiki's Pepe page for sources. -- Danny ( talk) 21:51, 7 August 2007 (UTC) reply
