If Mac OS X will run natively on the x86 platform, it is believed that the need for PearPC's emulation will eventually die.
I believe that this comment should be removed. It is not an objective fact, but a personal opinion by the author. Bheron
It's true that CherryOS is an inferior product but first thing's first: This is Wikipedia. There should be level-headed people giving factual as well as unbiased information. This article should be cleaned up.
Quoth the article
"PearPC is currently in development and is advancing quickly in speed, stability and features. It is hoped to achieve the goal of 1/10 host speed relatively soon. Individuals are making builds with more features like native CD-ROM support and even progress emulating sound has begun. Popular PearPC sites that provide builds also include Altivec support for PowerPC G4 processors. Support for graphics cards acceleration is in progress, which in theory should provide a major performance boost due to OS X's hardware-accelerated GUI known as Quartz-Extreme"
I think that entire paragraph is vaporware. I haven't seen any development to pearpc for about 1/2 year. I'd love to be proven wrong though :/
I think it might be good to include a small statement explaining that using this to run the MacOS on non-Apple hardware is prohibited by the MacOS EULA. 71.199.128.182
If I recall there was a newer beta release at one point, but then the creator of PearPC was hit by a train? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.173.15.10 ( talk) 15:18, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
VMWare Fusion is a windows emulator on a mac and pearPC is (was) a Mac emulator on a windows. Therefore, that is not a replacement. Also, the intro is inconsistent and there are many other small problems in the text. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.193.179.203 ( talk) 18:28, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
