@ WomenArtistUpdates: the Smithsonian SIRIS catalog has Rudolph doing a painting called "Inter State Industrial Exposition" in 1873. At that time she was 8 years old. Do you suppose this could be "the frieze Industrial Arts for the Reception Room of the Illinois State Building" in 1893 ? I just thought I'd mention this to you before contacting them. thanks, Carptrash ( talk) 05:49, 31 August 2018 (UTC) reply

@ Carptrash:, Even though she was a prodigy, when I was researching I didn't see any reference to her exhibiting in 1873. OT - Interesting article about the Inter State Industrial Exposition with great old-time illustrations. WomenArtistUpdates ( talk) 16:00, 31 August 2018 (UTC) reply
@ WomenArtistUpdates: thanks, that answers the question, her painting was "ca. 1915" a much more reasonable number. Carptrash ( talk) 18:12, 31 August 2018 (UTC) PS, I just emailed the Smithsonian with our findings, let's see what happens. Carptrash ( talk) 18:19, 31 August 2018 (UTC) reply
Well if you check out the Smithsonian listing you'll see that they have changed it. The "1873" was actually a part of the title of the painting and not the date is was supposed to have been executed. All is well. Carptrash ( talk) 22:33, 31 August 2018 (UTC) reply
