Drummochter isn't the highest railway line in Scotland. The Cairngorm funicular is counted as a railway line by the scottish executive and gov.

Winter closures

Could someone clarify in winter is frequently closed during snowstorms? 'Frequently' sounds very bad. I know that there are snow gates, but, given the importance of the A9, I would expect that the road is open for the majority of the time.-- JBellis 17:32, 11 March 2007 (UTC) reply

I would agree, it's a trunk road and as such is only closed when the battle to keep it open is lost. Fraslet 17:41, 11 March 2007 (UTC) reply

The owners of the B&B north of the pass said that the road hadn't been closed at all this winter (2006/07) and only once in 05/06 so I've now changed this section. It would be interesting to know what the (recent) historical record was like. -- JBellis 14:27, 1 April 2007 (UTC) reply
