- "Panchayat samiti" is not a common universal name used across all states in India. Different states have different names for it, like Mandal Parishad in Andhra Pradesh, Taluka Panchayat in Gujarat, Kshetra Panchayat in Uttar Pradesh etc. —

- Panchayat samiti is still the most commonly used name in English media and also used in the legal literature. you have not given diffs, but even if a few states call it with variants of the name, it does not mean that we have to use a totally different name hardly used. Among the all available options, Panchayat samiti is the best choice.-- DBig Xrayᗙ 11:02, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
