Image:InternationalPEN-logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

According to this clip from a 1986 "Firing Line," Mailer was "The President of PEN." I don't know if that was PEN Intl. or The US PEN??? However, I remember that time quite well and Mailer was very involved with the organization, raised a lot of money, and, in 1989, persuaded Stephen King to threaten Barnes and Noble Books stores with "pulling" all his best sellers if B&N did not prominently display Salman Rushdie's _Satanic Verses_ in all its stores. I think you need to include Mailer on this page and do more research on his role in the organization. Thanks. johncheverly 17:25, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
"It is the world's oldest human rights organization" - that might come as a surprise to the Red Cross (1863). Any reason not to edit down that claim? Tbanderson ( talk) 08:49, 29 April 2015 (UTC) It also might come as a surprise to the ACLU (1920)! C. Cerf ( talk) 22:21, 3 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi, reading article Paata Shamugia, it states he is PEN president from 2018 to present. Asking for help to verify and possibly update wikitable, or correct the Paata article. Regards, JoeNMLC ( talk) 17:58, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
