Piastri claims to not drive for Alpine in 2023

Piastri posted a thread on Twitter where he claims he has not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023 and will not be driving for them. https://twitter.com/OscarPiastri/status/1554527452231262210 Manvswow ( talk) 18:19, 2 August 2022 (UTC) reply

First F1 driver born in the 21st century

As stated in the first paragraph of 21st century, the 21st century started on 1 January 2001. Yuki Tsunoda was born in 2000, which is the last year of the 20th century. Therefore, Piastri is the first F1 driver born in the 21st century, not Tsunoda. DH85868993 ( talk) 05:37, 4 May 2023 (UTC) reply

I believe it may have been someone's attempt to indicate where he's not won a race but won a sprint, and not gotten a sprint podium but gotten a race podium. PunkAndromeda ( talk) 13:55, 8 October 2023 (UTC) reply

As per the guidelines regarding the F1 infoboxes, I've removed the edits as sprint races are not counted. PunkAndromeda ( talk) 13:59, 8 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Heritage Claim

The subject's heritage claims are marketing and self promotion and the claim needs to be independently verified. Piastri is Italian, Serbian and Croatian. The claims to exotic ancestry about being 1/16th Chinese, Japanese and Indian smell of marketing and self promotion and should not be repeated without objective proof. Claim about victories in successive rookie years

The opening section states "He is the first driver in history to win the Formula Renault Eurocup, Formula 3, and Formula 2 championships (or equivalent) in successive rookie years." However, the racing record section shows that he did not win Formula Renault Eurocup in his rookie year, he placed 6th overall. He did win Formula Renault Eurocup in his second year. The source cited for this claim also does not support it.

@ Quoting: I've changed it to say "in successive years" instead of "in successive rookie years". Thanks for pointing out the error. DH85868993 ( talk) 09:26, 26 May 2024 (UTC) reply
