What I am finding is that there has been a very, very large amount of material written on this topic. This means that it may suffer from the problems encountered with the related topic Creation myths: that of bloat and loss of focus (it looked like this before it was slimmed down). I think it would therefore be a good idea to keep this article focused and summarised -- dealing with broad themes and/or more prominent myths (i.e. those discussed in detail by multiple sources -- I actually ran across two or three mentions of the Maui myth, before I included it -- and then discovered that it has an even more detailed treatment in Māui (Māori mythology) -- which should, I think, set a pattern -- leave detailed treatments of prominent myths to their own articles). Green, the cited source for this paragraph, characterises this as "Western civilisation" -- and it is not an unreasonable characterisation -- the Book of Genesis has been the 'creation narrative' of the West for most of the last two millenia. Hrafn Talk Stalk( P) 17:07, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
This article is not about the origin of something called the "death myth". Hence I changed the title from "origin of death myth" to "origin-of-death myth". Michael Hardy ( talk) 02:57, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: moved. Clear consensus to move, and consistent with MOS. Fuzheado | Talk 07:23, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
Origin of Death → Origin of death – Death should not be capitalized in this article's title as it is not a proper noun. Per WP:LOWERCASE and WP:NCCPT. Treetoes023 ( talk) 16:54, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
