lead expanded. I'm not a fan of the named refs; they make it difficult for newbies (and experienced editors also) to edit a piece, or add to it. So I'll not do that, but thanks for the advice.

Royalty, nobility and heraldry subtopic
The article belongs in this subtopic because the award was not necessarily based on military performance. Its award elevated an individual and his wife to
Knighthood.

Given the large number of notable recipients of this award, having a full list would likely make the article unwieldy. I'd like to add a collapsible list though. Any objections? -
